I grew up in Prescott, AZ. I went to Arizona State for my undergraduate studies. It was there that I met my wife Anne. After ASU, we moved (with our son Thomsen) to Lincoln, NE. We lived there for two years. After that we moved to Princeton, NJ. While I was a PhD student at Princeton we had Lavinia, Copley, and Hammond. That's right, we have four (yes, four) children. We continue to live in Princeton, NJ, although we spent a glorious AY in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.
Outside of philosophy, I try to be a Bourdainian enthusiast, with serious interests in art (especially poetry and painting), food, travel, taking pictures (see my photo page here and my instagram here), baseball, and most especially soccer/football/fútbol/Fußball. I support the Baltimore Orioles, Spain, Arsenal, SC Freiburg, and, above all, FC Barcelona.
